I founded Ergonauts in 2000. I was fortunate enough to have networked with some brilliant people that had unique skill sets, in several different fields, that could all be brought together to help solve the growing ergonomic problem.

Our first order of business was to partner with the University of Kentucky and create a Certification in Ergonomics Management (CEM). This field of knowledge is designed to approach ergonomics with a quality systems template approach. And that is what we did. It was very successful and numerous professionals still use the CEM in their credentials.

We also designed a technology process to address an end-to-end solution to multiple needs in ergonomics. That didn’t go as well, as the internet was not fast enough, and technology wasn’t sophisticated enough to produce the technology product we had designed.

Over the next 20 years, technology caught up, the Internet caught up, and we kept the dream alive. Additionally, several other brilliant people crossed my path.

From 2019 through 2022 we designed and built Ergonauts’ ErgoAlgo, technology platform. We launched it in the fourth quarter of 2022 and as a group took it to market. It was at that moment that I observed the organization really getting bigger than me. And I like it! 

Those brilliant humans that I had asked to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me, stepped up and started pushing our technology to the market based on their professional experience.

We didn’t just launch the platform, but we launch multiple communication formats to spread the word about ergonomics. That’s all bigger than me. 

What does 2023 have in store for the Ergonauts… We’re going to keep doing what we’ve been doing. We’re going to work hard to make Lean ergonomics available to everyone. We are going to focus on continuous improvement of the initiatives and products that we have launched already. We’re going to remain grateful for this opportunity. And we have a couple of new initiatives will be launching as well as new technology we are developing.

In regards to our market: Nowhere in any of our goals and objectives will you find verbiage that indicates we want to put others in this field out of business. In fact, our goal is collaboration, not competition. The magnitude the problem due to poor ergonomics in this country is so massive. We need everyone contributing to solving the problem. 

So, I’m very excited to be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with every single board member. 2023 is going to be another delightful year to be a member of Ergonauts!
